Educational content in VR is able to appeal to hands-on and experiential learners in a way that traditional e-learning simply can't – we can teach aerodynamics by allowing learners to assemble and test airplanes under a variety of simulated atmospheric conditions, or introduce quantum physics by setting up the double-slit experiment and letting learners carry it out and draw their own conclusions.
On a deeper level, the immersive nature of the medium enables us to create authentic learning experiences for a variety of cognitive and interpersonal skills.
